1953
FAMESA was founded as Fabrica de Mechas S.A. and started manufacturing safety fuses.
1962
FAMESA created its own safety fuse stranding machine design and increased production.
1964
As part of its expansion process, FAMESA purchased 100 ha of land in the district of Puente Piedra.
1968
FAMESA patented its own safety fuse stranding machine design in the United States.
1969
FAMESA moved its production plants and administrative offices to the district of Puente.
1973
FAMESA started production of the Booster HDP ® primer for surface operations and civil works.
1975
FAMESA started manufacturing its line of accessories and explosives for seismic prospecting: seismic electric detonators and directed charges.
1975-1978
FAMESA added to its blasting accessories line with the production of quick fuses, connectors and electric delay detonators.
1978
FAMESA developed the nonelectric, antistatic, micro delay detonator for underground mining and civil works, launching its FANEL® product into the market.
1978 - 1980
According to its expansion plan, FAMESA purchased 1,200 ha of land in the district of Chancay to manufacture its line of high explosives.
1990
FAMESA started production of prepared SUPERFAM® ANFO for mining operations and civil works.
1992-1996
FAMESA developed and started production of cartridge emulsions, launching the EMULNOR® product, and preparation of bulk emulsions.
1997
FAMESA imported the first Ammonium Nitrate from South Africa through an exclusive representation agreement for Peru with SMX® - Sasol Mining Explosives.
1998
FAMESA decided to start its internationalization process and began operations at its plant in Iquique (Chile) with the production of Emulsion Matrix and ANFO and assembly of FANEL®.
1998-1999
FAMESA opened its Emulsion Matrix production plant in Salaverry (Trujillo) to supply open pit mines in the northern region of Peru.
2003
FAMESA obtained ISO 9001:2000 certification for its production and sales processes in all its locations, including the blasting service.
2004-2007
FAMESA developed and assembled its first factory truck to prepare ANFO and HANFO in open pit operations, and started to provide the Comprehensive Blasting Service for surface operations.
2008
As part of its ongoing innovation process, FAMESA developed its SAN-G® gasifiable emulsion for open pit operations.
2009-2010
FAMESA obtained BASC certification for its logistics chain processes for its Puente Piedra and Chancay locations.
FAMESA opened its emulsion matrix, ANFO and cartridge emulsions production plant in La Joya (Arequipa).
2012
Looking for a strategic location to supply explosives to different mining operation, FAMESA moved its production plant from Iquique to La Serena (Chile).
2014
FAMESA added the African market to its export portfolio with Zimbabwe, Zambia, Republic of Congo and Tanzania, achieving success in operations and good performance of its products.
2015
FAMESA expanded its Bulk Emulsion production capacity at its Chancay plant in order to supply surface and underground mining clients.
